The AC Milan midfielder was left bemused upon hearing the rationale behind his omission from the Dutch squad by the national coach, and stated his disappointment.
Many tipped the AC Milan midfielder of making it to the national side following his impressive displays through the course of the season, and Emanuelson could not hold back his disappointment following his exclusion from the side.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Erik-Pieters-c12766 was left out of the Holland side following his injury and it was expected that the Milanello midfielder would fill in the position of left-back for the Dutch in his absence. He has featured as the left-back in the
Serie A on a number of occasions but spent most of the season playing in the midfield.
Emanuelson was excluded from the squad as the Oranje national team head coach went for midfielder Stijn Shaars and Jetro Willems. The Rossoneri midfielder stated that his faith in the manager dissipated after his decision to exclude
him.
The Dutch national was giving an interview to Voetbal International and he stated that there was no basis for his decision. He went on to comment:
"He told me that I hadn't played at left-back enough, and that there was too much competition in midfield. I can only accept his decision, but it's not based on facts. The coach said that I haven't played left-back for over two
years, but I've played there regularly for Milan. I couldn't really do much with his explanation.”
The midfielder played an extremely important role in the Diavolo’s hunt for chasing the Scudetto but they faltered midway and Juventus did not give up the lead after going in front. The San Siro player was clearly upset by the
decision to drop him from the squad and in his frustration he went on to state:
"You're no longer credible in my opinion [afterr such an explanation]. It's pretty clear for me. He doesn't like the footballer Emanuelson."
The Dutchmen lost in the first match of the Euro 2012 after going down 1-0 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884. It was a lacklustre performance by the Oranje with many fans disappointed with their performance.
