  1. Shopaholics should be careful not to go anywhere in Paris without a friend who will drag them from the stores when their credit limit is reached.

Check the big department stores of course:

    Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche

24, rue de Sèvres (7th arr.)

    Metro : Sèvres Babylone

    Galeries Lafayette

    40, boulevard Haussmann (9th arr)

Metro : Chaussée d'Antin La Fayette

    Printemps Haussmann

    64, boulevard Haussmann (9th arr)

    Metro : Havre Caumartin

The so called "flea markets" of Paris are a great experience. The biggest is the one is Les Puces de Saint-Ouen between the Porte de St-Ouen and Porte de Clignancourt, just outside the 18th arrondissement.

This place has furniture, pictures, new and second-hand clothes at rock-bottom prices (especially if you're adept at haggling). Make sure to bring cash, as stallholders seldom accept credit cards and the nearest available ATM always has a line.

To get there take the Metro to either Porte de Clignancourt (line 4) or  Porte de St-Ouen (line 13) and just follow the crowds.

Then there is the French version of an outlet mall called La Vallee Village (3, cours de la Garonne Paris 77700) where over 75 leading ready-to-wear, table ware and luxury labels offer their previous season's collections (minimum of 33% reduction (off original recommended price) and up to 60%).

Its actually outside Paris but easy to get to. by the RER commuter train to the Val d'Europe station.

Better still, three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), there is a Cityrama shuttle service that goes there. Departure from the Cityrama agency, place des Pyramides, at 10:15 am and return to Paris at approximately 5:00pm.

The fare is 15€ round trip. Reservations are required by 5:00pm the day before departure, at your hotel desk or Cityrama agency.

  2. It depends, whether u want to spend a lot, or buy common stuff at somewhat reasonable prices. Expensive: near Place Vendome and Cafe de la Paix. Not so bad: search Lafayette and surroundings.

  3. this huge mall called lafayette.. i think? it was a while ago since i've been to paris.

  4. le bon marche

across from it is a really nice supermarket too

depend though...cause like there are lots of nice places just depends on the price range

  5. Hi !

This is the best places to shop in this city :

    - "Les Galeries Lafayette" and "Le printemps" :

Very famous shops and very french !

8th borough near the "opera Garnier"

    -"Le Bon marché"

Very beautiful and the oldest shop in Paris

    But, it is expensive !

    7th borough

    -"La rue de Rivoli"

It's a large street near the museum of the 'Louvres' and the park 'Les Tuileries'

Rivoli street is very nice !

    1/4th borough

This is the most famous ("Les champs élysées" are very touristic...) places to shop in paris.

But, you should be in the district "Le Marais", 4th borough.

It's my favorite district. It's very trendy and there are a lot of shops. However, as it's fashion shops (Zadig & Voltaire, Chanel,...), it's very very expensive ! What a pity !!!!!

I hope you'll be happy in Paris. It'a really a marvellous city.

If you have answers, don't hesitate !

    Bye

PS : I'm really sorry for my bad English...

    La Samaritaine

    Streets:

Champs-Elysees & Rue du Faubourg St-Honore (high end boutiques)
