  1. she might have ICK, red streaks and so forth, go to walmart or apet store and buy things to remove that stuff, i had such a hard time with fish and that d**n ick, when you buy the stuff make sure it describes what your fish has, GOOD LUCK on your guppy

  2. Your should get the female guppy out of the tank. She is obviously sick and will make the other sick too if you don't put her in an isolation tank if it isn't already too late.

It sounds like a bacterial infection to me. You can get medications for the fish but I don't think it will help your female guppy. Maybe you should get some anyway in case your other fish have similar symptoms in the future.

Make sure you aren't feeding them too much. That is usually the cause of most fish illnesses.

  3. its ok it is most likely to be pregnant, check for its 'gravid spot' where is bum should be it should be a black spot. this means its preggy. email me and tell me how u get on

  4. Yes, but let her die in the tank and hopefully she will recover!  Best of luck to you.

  5. well if you really love this guppy take it to the vet i kwon this sound weird but its worth a try... good luck i will pray for your guppy

  6. Yikes

  7. go to the  pet store and get maracyn  or maracyn 2  or some other kind of fish anti fungal and don't forget to take the charcoal out of tank

  8. It sounds like dropsy, if her scales are sticking out it may be too late. Try some meds that work on dropsy but sorry to say it is probably too late.

  9. if you luv it take it to the vet

  10. cook your fish. eating fish is good for health

  11. its just a fish

  12. there is nothing u can do! and do not flush it because if it is dieseased u will cause more problems.

  13. rip the fish has drowned.

  14. try this put fishfood in their tank if they eat it then they are fine they might be scared if they were dyeing they would float to the top or put them in a different bowl clean their tank and then put them bak in if all else fails just wait and see

  15. Fuzziness suggests a fungal infection or a problem with her slime coat, while being puffed up with her scales spiked out suggests it might a swim bladder problem or dropsy.

If possible, remove her to a separate tank to lessen the risk of infecting the other fish. A little bit of aquarium (not table) salt in her water might perk her up and will do good for her slime coat. Since she's eating, try offering her a couple of frozen peas; just thaw them out in a bit of water, then squeeze and pop them into the tank for her. It's a laxative for fish. If the trouble is belly or swim bladder related, it might help. It's also tasty, so no harm, no foul.

Medicating when you aren't sure what the problem is can lead to other problems, so I'd hold off unless you can get a definite diagnosis.

  16. Setle down it sound like it has white spots diease go to your local fish shop and ask for the white spot desease cure, it sounds like the fuzziness is alge the white spots eat the fish alive. It will probly die sorry hope i helped

  17. AIDS

  18. Sounds like you have a few things going on here one of which sounds like ich.  The other sounds like dropsy (although uncommon in guppies).  This complecated by a swimbladder or bloat problem.

What is your water testing out at and how often do you do a water change?

I would suggest treating the tank with ich meds (Remember to remove your carbon if you are running it)  Stop feeding your fish flake foods and put them on veggies only. (lettuce, peas, zucchini etc)

25% weekly water changes and cleanings.

Guppies are hearty fish and can withstand great flux's in temperature as well as ph.  If you have no other fish in the tank, salt can be added.

  19. just flush em' down the drain. trust me. it's better this way.

  20. Having trouble figuring out what is happening to your guppies? Go through this checklist questionnaire...it may help you discover the nature of the problem.

Many diseases can be also be avoided by limiting the amount of stress that a fish endures when they are newly acquired and during day-to-day care. Here is an article on stress, and it's role in fish diseases.

Frequent observation and immediate action to correct a problem will help eliminate the possibility of the spread of a disease and will greatly improve the odds of your fish recovering. In other words, if you see something wrong with your fish - act on it!!

    1. BACKGROUND

What is your pH? Any sudden changes in temperature or pH? See Water Quality .

Do you use salt as a general additive?

What temperature is your guppy tank?

Any sudden recent water temperature fluctuations of more than 4 degrees?

Has anything been done to the tank that is out of the ordinary? Such as changes in water changing practices or addition of new fish or plants, use of live food, new tank decorations?

Is there a possibility of any of the following being in contact with the fish tank: aerosol sprays, paint fumes, tobacco, other fumes or chemicals, metal of any kind? See Water Quality .

Any new piping or plumbing or mains work by the local water supply company (such as the addition of chloramines)?

What is the size of the tank(s) involved and the stocking level?

What is your method(s) of filtration? How often do you make partial water changes? How often do you rinse the filter or change it?

What types of food do you feed and how often?

    When did the problem start?
