  1. I read all stuff saying to leave them in the cage for a bit too.

but when it came crunch time they were straight out of the cage and playing with me

some birds i have rehomed, i havn't even waited to get them home before playing, i get them out in the car. (indian ringnecks)

  2. New birds should be kept in the cage for around a week to get used to the new people and new surroundings.  They are stressed when you bring them home.  Just be patient.  If you leave him out too soon, he can become afraid and fly into things. Make sure you keep his wings clipped so you don't have any flying accidents.  Many birds die from broken necks from flying into things in the house, and some escape out the door of the house when it is opened...

  3. By all means if he/she wants to play...PLAY! I think that it depends on each individual bird.

  4. let him out, how old is he? if he isnt scared, if he is older, and is showing interest i dont see why you cant let him out, cockatiels are such good birds, good friends too, your lucky lol your friend, trish

  5. When I brought my birds home I played with them for as long as they wanted me to. The only real reason for not messing with them for a day is so they are not stressed. but if he want to come out I say go ahead and let him out for a little while. Some birds are more people friendly than others.
