  1. dose the tire have cracks on the side wall if you do it not safe

dose the tire have have tread on the tire you take a penny and you can see the head of lincon you have good tread if you cant put the penny inside of the tread you dont have any tread so you need new tires

  2. Fortunately, the tire manufacture date is stamped on every tire as part of the DOT code.

Look out for the 4 digit code (if it is 3 digit, your tire is already way too old, manufactured before the year 2000) stamped on the sidewall of the tire.

The first two digits denote the week of birth, and the last two digits describing the year of birth.

  3. some tires have tire wear markers. if you can't se it, it's old.

look for the deepness of the tire tread. if the tire has deep treads, and looks new and unworn, it's generally going to be safe.

there is no way to accurately tell the age of a tire

  4. after the size of the tire you will see a group of numbers something like this 245 75 r16  2602 the 2602 stands for the 26th week of the year 2002.   3704 is 37th week of 2004 get the drift. hope this helps
