Question:

Urgent Question about snowboard bags!?

by  |  earlier

I just got a 156cm snowboard about a week ago and I need a snowboard bag for the bus up to the mountain. I don't want it to expensive under $100, and either Dakine, Burton, or Forum, whatever you think is best. I also need it to fit with bindings on the board. This is my first snowboard bag, so I don't know much about them. Thanks.

  1. Almost all bags are made to fit boards with bindings attached, so no need to worry about that. All those brands will make very similar products, it is merely preference and price that should factor in for your decision. Some sites that I suggest are:

    www.dogfunk.com

    www.proboardshop.com

    www.sierrasnowboard.com

    hope this helped

  2. Well you really dont need to buy a expansive bag. I went to a ski/snowboard expo called ski dazzle and i was able to buy a pretty good snowboard bag for $20. And mostly all snowboard bags can fit your board with your bindings and you can also put your boots in there too.

  3. A basic bag can be found for $25 online.  Name brands cost more and so do features like wheels, etc.  I got mine from Buy.com for that much.  It fits my board(with the bindings on), boots and most of my gear.  Perfect for bus trips. and just keeping everything together.

Here is the page with some options.  The $100 one is nice, but the $20 one will do the job.  All depends on the money you want to spend.

  4. I got a Dakine.  They specialize in accessories, and I think that Burton tends to be overpriced for some things.  I've never really heard of any Forum bags, so I can't comment.  I got a Dakine Tour bag from last season.  It's padded which is good for when getting tossed under the bus, and has external zip pockets for your boots.  It's about $70-$75.  If you don't need that much padding, you can get a sleeve.  The only one I am aware of is by Burton for like $60.  May as well just pay another fifteen dollars and get one with more padding.  Mind you that these bags don't have wheels, but do you seriously need one if it's just going to get tossed under a bus?
