Urgent: What the name of this bird?

Question

- A royal blue coat

- A bit of bright yellow on the side of his/her wings

- A bit of red near the bright yellow(it look likes it continues underneath the wing)

- Makes a loud shrill noise

- In New York

- not a bluejay (I know what they look like)

Man-o-man I was so hoping to answer this question but it looks like you answered it on your own.

I was going to ask if you were sure the blue wasn't actually black.

It might be the eastern bluebird???

Ok here is my final guess..

A blue grosbeak?? Its blue with yellow and red on the tips of its wing feathers. See the site below for a pic and to hear his call. Does not say he lives in NY, but does list NJ so maybe!
