  1. Put corn starch on the wound to stop the bleeding and monitor the bird until he calms down, make sure he doesn't go into shock by covering his cage [keeps him calm] or turn off the lights

  2. try to stop the bleeding like you would with bandaging on a human...not sure how

edit: ooh actually, i found a question like yours i hope this answer helps

  3. Don't panic. The bleeding will stop. He's probably caught the claw in something and yanked it out breaking it in half. If the claw is still intact but only broken, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if the claw has been ripped away from the toe, then I would take it to see the vet. Your bird may need a course of anti-biotics and some anti inflammatory meds. Don't worry too much. The claw will grow back and the bleeding will stop. If the bleeding doesn't stop you can buy at any pet store an anti-coagulant powder like "cut-stop" or "quick-stop" When applied to the nail it will stop the bleeding. Read the direction to make sure it's suitable for using on birds.

  4. Apply pressure.

If he won't let you touch it, wrap him in a small towel.

Hold pressure on the foot with a paper towel.  It may take a few minutes.

  5. If a vet is not available, go to your nearest pet store or Walmart and get whats called quick stop. It will stop the bleeding. Get it into a vet the very next morning if possible.

  6. if u don't have quick stop, flour works good. just put it where it's bleading (dip his foot in a small dish of flour) and hold it. if it get's worse, take it to the vet. this happened to our cockatiel and he was fine.

  7. what happened? what is the wound exactly? and how long ago did it happen and how is he acting? email me the answers and I will try and help.
