i hav a project in whch m using two 12V dc geared motors..the current rating of the motors is 0.6A each..my queries are:

1.should the power supply be of 12V,1.2A?

2.wat will happen if i use 9V dc batteries instead of transformers??

3.wat precautions should be taken so that in any case the motors are not damaged?

  1. 1. maybe, but more margin would be better, as motors have a higher current on startup. Get a 2 amp or 3 amp supply.

    2. These are DC motors, you can't use AC, so a transformer is out.

A 9 volt battery may make the motor move but slowly, and the battery won't last long. Get a plug in DC supply, rated at 12v and 2 or 3 amps.

    3. Don't understand your sentence.

    4. Gears can increase torque at expense of speed.
