I enrolled my daughter into Abeka Homeschool (Fully accredited, graduation diploma and transcripts for college will be supplied), yesturday and need to notify the school immediately of our intent to withdraw from public school. I joined HSLDA yesturday but can not log in to get a sample letter, there is a waiting period to recieve your membership number. I need a withdrawal letter for Massachusetts to send certified return reciept today and need ideas on how to write it! Hoping for some answers before I run off to the post office before 4pm... :9) Thankyou!

  1. Call HSLDA at (540) 338-5600.  They should be able to help you.  Good luck.

  2. Unfortunately I could not find a link to any specific 'intent to withdraw' forms, but I found a list of Mass. homeschoolers with telephone numbers. You might be able call one and get an idea of where to look or what to write yourself.

    Good luck to you!

  3. im from Mass too but I don't know how too get you letter down sorry

what part of Massachusetts are you from im from Springfield

  4. Does your local district have a form that you can fill out? Here in Arkansas all we have to do is fill out a form and give it to the school district to let them know that we are homeschooling. But if all you are required to do is write an intent letter then it should have just the basics. Who you are, who the child is, and the fact that you are intending to homeschool. You might want to call the district and find out more of what they require you to tell them. Some places whant you to tell them what subjects you will be teaching and wether you are a certified teacher etc. Most states dont but it is worth it to call and ask.
