  1. I would recommend you to take edea. And if you think it's too soft for you why not take a harder model ? I have myself the hardest edea skates, ice fly and they're seriously ROCKING!! I love them so much, they are so perfect it's unbelievable! You should try!

  2. What level of skating are you in? The Edea overture is a softer skate, but if you are a lower level skater then it may be a decent skate for you. What model of the Gam skates are you looking at? I'd suggest working with your coach and/or local pro shop to help you select the best skates for your skating. Good luck!

  3. To be honest, I've never tried any of the brands you've mentioned.

I will suggest getting to the pro shop to try it out. I got my stock Klingbeils from the Net and while it's a good fit, the tongues weren't like my old Risport's anatomically formed tongues, and the insides of my foot gets rubbed a lot.

You wouldn't know if you like it well enough until your feet is on it. If you think Edea may be too soft, go get a higher level Edea skates.

The MODEL of the skates matter much more than the brand. The brand determine the shape of the foot bed but the models determine the rigidity of the boot. I tried yahoo-ing for Grafs Villars but cannot find what levels they are for.

How long had you have your skates? If it's just a while [less than a year if you skate once weekly] before it broke down, then I think you should upgrade.

Unless that's a reason for you to change skates, I think you should stick with Graf. Maybe a higher level like Richmond. Before you make any decision, try the skates out. If that is not possible, take a look at your friends', if any. If I'm not wrong, Edea skates are not heat-moldable while Gam and Graf skates are. This is very very important if you are doing the fitting without a pro shop.

Remember, how long you skate, how heavy you are, and the level you are, etc are determinants of the models. The brands depend all on your feet.

    Good Luck!
