I found out today that in my last blood test they found uric acid.

SO they sent me to the lab again today and drew more blood.

My blood pressure is also borderline and I get really bad headaches. Are these all related? I have to go in first thing tomorrow. And she said if my results came back bad I am going to the Hospital. Can anyone help me on whats going on? I have no idea

  1. Uric acid in the blood is a symptom of kidney malfunction.  In human blood, uric acid concentrations are normally between 3.6 mg/dL (~214µmol/L) and 8.3 mg/dL. Most uric acid is filtered by the kidneys and eliminated from the body through urine; when uric acid builds in the blood it is a symptom that the kidneys are not able to filter the blood properly. Another side effect of kidney disorder is an increase in blood pressure, as it filters the blood and regulates the elements in the blood that affect blood pressure.

Increased uric acid in the blood is often a symptom of gout, diabetes or metabolic disorders.  Hopefully your doctors have found this increase early.  I wish you all the best, and please don't let this answer scare you; gout is the most common reason for an increase in blood urea, and it is perfectly treatable :)
