  1. ketonuria

Ketones, products of body fat metabolism, normally are not found in urine. Dipstick reagents detect acetic acid through a reaction with sodium nitroprusside or nitroferricyanide and glycine. Ketonuria most commonly is associated with uncontrolled diabetes, but it also can occur during pregnancy, carbohydrate-free diets, and starvation.

As far as Protein, there are many causes. I'll attach a web link. But still consult a physician. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050315/1153.ht...

  2. I'm not really sure..

but if I had to guess...

    I would say Lupus

    =/

  3. diabetes.

your cells aren't able to take in glucose properly, instead of the sugar going into your cells like it should.. it's just floating around in your blood (ie. why diabetics have high blood sugar) ...so your body begins to resort to breaking down other macromolecules to use as energy.. this is really bad!  this is why protein would start to show up in your urine.

as for ketones, this is the same sort of thing except the body is breaking down fat instead of glucose. the byproduct of breaking down fat to use as energy is ketones. this is called ketosis.

    i hope this helped!

  4. Diabetes

  5. Ketones= normal after fasting (unless a type 1 diabetic)

Protein= trace amounts normal; if more needs investigation.
