  1. A friend of mine washed her daughter's light up shoes in the washing machine.  Her daughter was fascinated - as they crashed round in there the lights flashed!  By the time they came out the lights were dead - maybe it was the water or maybe the batteries died!  They are only meant to work for a certain number of stomps and they got a fair amount of "stomping" in the machine.

Give them a really good sponge clean, soak the sole as much as you can in whatever cleaning product you prefer and then use rolled up newspaper to dry it out.

  2. They should be pretty well sealed up in the sole of the shoes. I would recommend not washing them in hot water or drying them in a dryer. The heat and tumbling action could damage the electronic parts.

One thing you might also consider is getting some Nature's Miracle at a pet store. It contains an enzyme that neutralizes pet urine, eliminating odors and stains. And, it works on human bodily fluids, too (pee, vomit, blood, etc.). You would just pour it directly on the tops of the shoes and let it soak in for a few hours. Then rinse them well and let them air dry. That would at least spare them from the agitation and submersion from the washing machine.
