Uromastyx hardwickii - Handling?

I understand that this is one of the smaller Uro species... How does it hold up to handling? does it like to be handled or not? also i was wondering just how big can a male Hardwick get? How big can a female get? What size cage should i use when fully grown??

  1. males are usually 40-50 cm when full grown females are usually 30-40cm. They can get territorial so make sure you only keep one male in a tank by itself. (some even say that females should be housed alone as well) They need a basking spot that is very very hot. 120F (49C) You always want to get a tank that is AT LEAST 2 or 3 times longer than your animal is (from nose to tip of tail) and AT LEAST 1.5-2 times wider than your animals is long. As far as being handled, it really depends on the specific animal, how you are as an owner, and the age which you get them.
