Ursula Wikstrom’s take on the Olympics
Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom is among the millions of people who have caught the Olympics fever. She is among the many Finns who are cheering for their home team. She recently had a chat about the Olympics, where she shared her views about the greatest sports
event of the world.
The first question was the customary one about her favourite Olympics event. She said that she is into track events, particularly long jump and triple jump. Being a Finn, Ursula Wikstrom is very much into athletics.
When asked about her favourite Olympic athlete, she named Carolina Klüft, the Swedish star of long jump, triple jump and related event. Ursula Wikstrom particularly admired Klüft in the heptathlon event.
Another question was about which events she is following at the ongoing Olympics. Knowing he interest in the track events, the answer was very obvious. She said that she will be following all the track and field, and tennis matches.
She was very undecided over which country will win the most medals. She thought that the Great Britain might have a chance but she was very sure that Finland will not be the one.
Given her love for sports, Ursula Wikstrom said that she will watch all the sports and that each sports has its special moments. This is why she watches all of the Olympics events.
She said that she has met a couple of Olympians. She named Juha Hirvi in particular. Juha Hirvi is the Finn shooter who has competed in various Olympic events.
He won a silver medal in the 2000 summer Olympics. Both Ursula Wikstrom and Juha Hirvi play golf at the same club and this is perfect introduction among golf players.
When asked about the Olympic sport she might have taken up, she said that she became hooked to golf at an early age and did not have time for any other sport. However, she said that she admires the cross country skiers. She said that she could have taken
up this sport instead of golf.
Talking about golf in the Olympics, she said that it will be a great opportunity for players all over the world.
