Urszula Radwanska outwits Eleni Daniilidou in quarter final – Tashkent Open 2011
The two unseeded players that clashed against each other in the quarterfinal were Urszula Radwanska and Eleni Daniilidou. After playing on hard courts of Olympic School Tennis Courts for 2 hours and 30 minutes Radwanska survived
a mid match slip of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to qualify for t he semi final.
The players had previously met once prior to this event in 2011 at the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem tournament held in Fes, Morocco. During the second round match Daniilidou had won the match by bouncing back from a
set down and had taken a lead in their head-to-head. This event was a chance presented to Radwanska by fate to avenge her loss and fortunately she utilized the opportunity and levelled the head-to-head score at 1-1.
Opening the first round of the set was Daniilidou as she had won the pitch. The two players held serve in the first two games to even the score at 1-1.  In the following four games the two broke each other twice back-to-back to
round of the score at 3-3.  During the seventh game Daniilidou was again broken and as Radwanska held her serve in the eighth game, she took a lead. Broken in the sixth game yet again, Daniilidou literally gifted her service game to Radwanska.
During the second game Radwanska was first to serve and the two won on alternate games for the first four games to round of the score at 2-2. In the fifth game Radwanska was broken as her forehand went wayward, endorsing a game
to Daniilidou. A break up Daniilidou and Radwanska again won on alternate serves in the following two games.
After the eighth game the score was balanced at 4-4 as Radwanska broke Daniilidou. At this point the game could’ve gone either way, however, Daniilidou made a comeback by breaking back in the ninth game. As she served for the set,
Daniilidou smashed an ace and sealed her victory.
By the end of the second set, the players had bagged one set each and serving for the decisive set was again Radwanska and in the first two games they held their serves. In the third game the Greek was a break up as she was first
to break Radwanska. In the next two games the players again held their serve and the score board was 3-2 for Radwanska. In the sixth game Radwanska broke Danillidou to level the score at 3-3. During the seventh and eighth game the players broke each other
back-to-back to tie the score at 4-4.  Winning on her serve and breaking Dannilidou for the last time, Radwanska bagged the set and the match.
Radwanska was a dominant player throughout the match and was faced with a small blip but she eventually overcame and secured a berth in semi final, where she will meet number one seeded Ksenia Pervak.
