It was another glorious opportunity wasted by the Uruguayans to double their lead.
It was frustration time for the Uruguayans who were trying to find the second goal to secure their win over the Mexicans. Diego Forlan made another attempt on goal from 30 yards out. The ball seemed to be on target but it was easily clawed away by the Mexican goal stopper, Michel.
Uruguay came closest to scoring the second goal during the 73rd minute. Lodeiro found the ball at his feet after a pass from Suarez. Lodeiro took his shot on goal but his shot only managed to hit the cross bar. Uruguayans were simply unlucky throughout the night but they still managed to win the game 1-0.
Mexico had an opportunity during the dying moments of the game to make the score even with a free kick. However, the free kick was taken poorly and Uruguayans qualified for the next round of the Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 2011.
