Us border security costs (help needed please)?

can anyone give me these statistics and links to where you got them. Help is much appreciated.

1. How much money do we spend per year on securing the immediate US/mexico border?

2. How much money do we spend a year tracking down illegal aliens?

You'd have to go to the Dept of Homeland Security INS section to get their budgeting data for 2007 and proposal for 2008 which is broken down.  However, the problem is that the budget is spent on both legal and illegal immigration, it's not separated.

I recall about 60 agents full time on the boarders (not in stations), and about 200 agents in stations.  Whatever the number, get the difference.  Simply put the stations are for legal immigration, and the fences are for illegals, so all you have to do is compare the numbers.  We probably spend about 100 times more on legal immigration, including processing cards, and citizenship then we ever will spend on illegal immigration directly through security of the boarder.
