my 8 year old daughter is a us citizen, i am planning to let her continue primary school in my home country as I will be having my bootcamp for the us navy this coming fall. i decided to do this coz i don't have relatives or people i can really trust to leave her with here in the states. do i need to ask for some clearance or permit so she can go and continue school at a different country? if yes..where will i get it? and i won't be able to travel with my child, it's gonna be my dad who will bring her to my home country. my baby's daddy is in the navy too and he's deployed til the end of the year. we made a special power of attorney authorizing my parents as her legal guardian, do i need some other legal documents aside from this one?

i won't appreciate any sarcastic or rude answers...so anyone who will mock or criticize my question..just back off.

for those who will help me..thanks you so much!!

  1. The kid will need a visa that allows her to study in your country since she's not a citizen of that country.  She'll need her US passport too.

  2. You are going to need to get power of attorney back, get her school records and any other records of hers, medical etc...  You will need to talk to your recruiting officer about what you need from them .

  3. You don't need permission. Lot's of people do this.

  4. One other place you may need to consult is your home countries' embassy. They may be able to help with the process and you may find that your child has dual citizenship as well.
