I will be moving to dublin mid march and of course will have a work permit. my fiance is from colombia and I'm a US citizen.

Of course we want to be together in Ireland and get married.

How exactly do we go about her getting there. Should we go throught the US embassy in dublin? Should she apply in Colombia for a for a k-1fiance visa throught the us embassy or througth the irish embassy.

And how long would things take to process.

Thankyou

  1. Mmmmmm

I suspect the correct way is for her to apply to the Irish Embassy in her country of residence.

These things can take a variable amount of time and only the embassy can advise.

They don't have a k-1 as far as I know so you may not be able to do this the way you expect.

Check out this page for options

From what I can see you would need to have been working in Ireland for 12 months before she could apply to join you and only then if you were already married.

It may be that your Fiance will have to apply for a standard 90 visa to vist which I think is a quick process.

You really need to talk to an Irish Immigration officer.

If you get this wrong she could be refused entry or even deported..

You will also need to check out getting married in ireland.

    Good luck !
