  1. C is the answer.

Also of interest is that it has been confirmed that Hamilton deliberately missed. By the time the duel occurred he had decided he didn't want to actually do it, but the traditions of dueling stated that once a duel was proposed it had to occur. You couldn't refuse to take part and you couldn't back out. Well, you could but you would be considered a coward.

  2. E the you do your own homework.

Geez, you can't even bother to ask the question yourself instead of just copying?

  3. The correct answer is D.  After Burr was an outcast of the Democratic party because of the events in 1800, he returned to New York to run for governor.  Hamilton was not running for governor, but did not trust Burr, so began to campaigning against him by writting letters to prominent New Yorkers and newspapers.

It is not C, as previously stated.  Hamilton was not the initiator of the duel, and did not want to do it, but Burr insisted.

  4. C.
