how much can u spend per person in the usa and bring back to canada in 48hrs.

r there any exemptions

You can spend as much as you want. There are no rules to how much money you spend, but if you buy alcohol or cigarettes, then there is rules on how much you can bring back. After so much alcohol then you have to pay duty on it. Cigarettes I believe is 1 or 2 cartons per person Depending on the province (if your from Canada)

There are exemptions.  Within one day or 24 hours from coming back you can only bring back 50 dollars worth of stuff and no alcohol or cig. without being taxed.  48 hours and over  ........u can bring back 1 litre per person in alcohol and 700-750 dollars worth of stuff per person.  It's best to leave from canada in the night and come back in the morning from us because when u leave at night from canada, they count that as one day u were away and when u come back in the morning they basically count it as another day.  like fore example, lets say u left friday night, and u come back sunday morning ......even if u calculate that it less than 48 hours but they will count it as friday night, sat. night .,,so 24hours. .......... enjoy shopping but becareful not to keep unneccessary reciepts and because not to leave tags on..........later
