  2. You are obligated to maintain the Permanent Residence in US at least 6 months of a year without facing issues of your PR status.

  3. You have to be careful.  Even if you limit your time out of the US to, say, 5 months per year, the USCIS agents can challenge whether you are really maintaining a residence in the US and you could lose your green card anyway.  If you don't have a job in the US but do overseas, which you would need to declare anyway on your tax forms, it could lead to an interesting discussing at the airport next time you return.
