Usain Bolt trains and spends time with future athletics stars in Monaco – Athletics news
After achieving fame and excellence, the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, has decided to invest some of his time in touching hearts of youngsters who are eager to follow his footsteps.
While being in Monaco to participate in the Samsung Diamond League Herculis Meeting to commence on Friday, July 22, the 24-year-old sprinter took out time to meet some local young athletes and share some tricks with them, which may help them in emerging
as better athletes.
In this regard, Bolt decided to opt for a two prong approach. He not only conducted a session at the Stade Louis II, but also decided to spend his afternoon with athletes from the local club. In fact he went on to the extent of recruiting them for the track
and field competitions. Taking on the opportunity of having a clear day aided with sunny surf, the world champion of 100m and 200m runs tutored some 20 young athletes and conducted sprint drills on making an effective start, balancing the run and also the
technicalities of marking a successful finish.
During the session, the enthusiastic president of the IAAF, Lamine Diack, who is bent upon promoting athletics across the world, also decided to join the stellar sprinter. He enjoyed the entire exercise during the course, along with the interactive and tutorial
sessions.
Encouragingly, the planning depicted by the organisers was also an impeccable example of event management, as understanding the fact that in presence of a huge crowd it will become difficult for Bolt to go about with his way of interacting with the pupils
in a free and open environment, they abstained from advertising these sessions much and kept a low-profile for the activity.
However, this is also a fact that the Jamaican star has got the entire aroma which is required to gather a huge crowd around him. Perhaps this was the reason that as he initiated his activities at the sandy beaches of Monaco, a crowd comprised of few dozen
instantly swelled into several hundreds.
Lingering on with his training schedules, he also decided of having a fun session with local youngsters, in which he willingly participated into head-on-head competitions with them. The most interesting one of all these competitions was that of Bolt running
against a seven-year-old child, Zoe Varvet.
After beating the star in the run, she was generous enough to grant him her autograph as well. This truly was an amazing moment for the local crowd, as with this show of a good gesture, Bolt, has undoubtedly won the hearts of local spectators. What remains
to be seen is whether he also succeeds in bagging the title of the event.
