Usain bolt won the 100 meter sprint at the olympics by a lot but, before the race was even over he had a big lead and lowered his hands to his sides and smacking his fist to his chest. now the question. do you think that this is horrible sportsman ship? which is a huge part of the olympics. should there possibly be a downside to this a few milliseconds add to his time just so its not as good as it was because of his complete lack of class

  1. I agree.

It is not a matter of skill or ability but rather sportsmanship.

Perhaps it is his youth and inexperience that leads to this.

Having started competing so recently, with such natural speed, he has not had that sort of disrespect shown towards himself.

Raising his arms or prematurely pounding his chest would have been unwise but understandable.  Dropping his hands to his sides and making a show of no effort was disrespectful not only of the other runners but of the event.  I am sure that there are many around the world that will be rooting for someone else to break his record.  Sad for that, many of those same would have continued rooting for him.

  2. ...

if you were the fastest in the world... you MIGHT, just might celebrate...

    i would

so its not a complete lack of class...

Phelps celebrated, he pounded his chest...

Bolt is the fastest in the world in his sport, and its a lack of class...

    you sound jealous to me...

  3. I don't know. To me it seemed like he over did it a little. I think he's gonna beat himself up about slowing down the last 20 meters once the overall excitement dies down. He could have easily gotten in the 9.5s. He says he doesn't care but when someone breaks his world record by a few hundredths of a second he's gonna hate himself. Whatever if your the fastest man in the world you can do whatever the h**l you want.

  4. WTF?! Poor sportsmanship and class for pumping his chest when he won?
