Usb device not recognized when i plug in jvc digitlal video camera?

ok when i plug in my jvc digital video camera model number GR-D35OU. i use a panasonic cassete. mini dv me. DVM60. 60/90. when i flip the screen, there's a little port that says "dv" beneath it. and on the other end, i connect that cable to my computer's usb port. and then, a message appears on the bottom right side corner of my computer saying, "usb device not recognized" can anyone help me on what to do? if you can help me, i will give 5 stars to the best answer and i will vote as best. thank you.http://cdn.propertyroom.com/ImageServer/Sellers/Seller1/Images/TtlImgs/1_10120084621953.jpg

  1. USB won't work. You need firewire. There is nothing in the manual that even refers to USB.

    Refer to Page 34.

    Firewire, I.Link. IEEE1394a and DV are all the same thing.

    If your computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully you have an expansion slot and can add one.

    Since you apparently tried USB - and there is no USB port on the camcorder, I hope you didn't just blow the DV port by shorting the pins in the camcorder...
