Usb sound from hd camcorder?

i have a hd camcorder and i used firewire to transfer my vids 2 the comp b4, my new comp does not have firewire and im going to be useing usb ! does usb transfer sound or just video?

USB transfers data... not sound, not video.  Firewire was a transport for sound and video as well as data.

Data can include sound and video, but it may only be for transferring pictures...

Plug it in and find out.  Odds are, you'll be able to transfer the clips of sound and video that you've taken on your camcorder.
