Use Ps2 Controller (PC) with Halo 2 (PC)?

I want to get Halo 2 for PC but it says that it needs the X-box controller. Can I use the Ps2 PC controller I have for it or do I NEED to buy the X-box controller?

An xbox games must be played with and xbox controller.

EDIT:

If it's for your PC, obviously you use the PC mouse and keyboard.

I think you can get a controller that hooks up to your PC, but it isn't an xbox brand.

Computers don't have ports that plug into an xbox controller so you're pretty dumb...

Im sure you need the Xbox360 controller for windows. Its the same thing as the Xbox 360 wired controller, just a different name.
