Question:

Use Satellite for Internet but home phone disconnects it?

I use satelite for my internet connection. I have two telephone land lines in my home; one I use a deskset phone (in other words, it is not cordless) in my office, the other one I have two cordless phones and a printer/fax machine. One of the cordless phones is my living room, the other in the bedroom and the copier/fax machine is in my office. I can use the phone in my office with no problems, but if calls are made or received on the cordless phones, I lose my internet connection. Since I don't use the phones for my internet service, I don't understand why this happens? Any ideas or suggestions?

  1. do you use wifi for your laptop?

If your computer is connected to the satellite transceiver via a wifi connection, and your cordless phones are on 2.4GHz, then this tells me that your cordless phone shares the same channel as the wifi router.

go into the wifi router properties and change the channel.

  2. call the company!
