When I import the table into the table of the database and preview it, it looks perfect, but there is no way to accept it as the database.

  1. Yahoo Groups Database has it's own format settings that must be used.  You can upload your Word table as a File. I have done this before.

  2. I'm confused, if you can "import the table into the database and preview it, but there is no way to accept it as the database" - If you can preview it (as a database), why can't you save it?

If you just save a Word file with a table as a text file, it does not set how the table data is delimited.

To convert a table to text:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/H...

    1) Select the rows or table (table: One or more rows of cells commonly used to display numbers and other items for quick reference and analysis. Items in a table are organized into rows and columns.) that you want to convert to paragraphs.

    2) On the Table menu, point to Convert, and then click Table to Text.

    3) Under Separate text with, click the option for the separator character (separator characters: Characters you choose to indicate where you want text to separate when you convert a table to text, or where you want new rows or columns to begin when you convert text to a table.) you want to use in place of the column boundaries.

You can choose how you want the data delimited -

    Options:

    - Paragraph Marks

    - Tabs

    - Commas

    - Other [example dash "-"]

Also you can chose to Convert nested tables

Note: Rows are separated with paragraph marks.

    Basic Table Info:

    - Create Table: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

    - Add Records:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

    - Import data:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

Import data (from the link above):

"Input your data into the empty data box presented, row by row. You'll need to select a delimiter (a way of separating one piece of information from the next) to separate information within each row."

Note: .csv = Comma delimiter - .txt can be a comma, tab, or other delimiter.

FYI: Yahoo Databases have a table that is VERY simple (flat), not relative and does not have access to insert bookmarks within the database.
