Question:

Use of Technology in helping umpire's decisions??

I always supported the use of technology in aiding umpire's decisions for everything including LBW decisions...

But I have noticed that there are some who think that umpires will become less important if this happens...

My question to them is, are you concerned for the umpire's role OR are you concerned to see a fair game of cricket..??

Do you agree that the use of technology is the right way to go to ensure a fair game of cricket ?

  1. yes

  2. I am concerned for both TBH...

The umpires role in cricket has always been a role of authority,i am concerned that with all the new technology being put in place then some players may not have the respect that an umpire deserves...

The role that technology is playing has been proven very effective, the "sniko" and "hot spots' are only really for the viewers and commentators, but do show good points...

Yeah we need the technology BUT i just hope that the players still give the umpires respect in the games...

  3. Fair and square the game becomes with technology and one poor decision ruins the result of the game.

ICC should give importance to the game and implement Technology as per your suggestion in interest of cricket and give the game a fair winner.

  4. Yes.

I think technology shall be the sole judge of decisions on the field of play since, these umpires don't want to ask for third umpires for Sub Continent cricket nations 90% the times.

  5. Look dude, depending solely on technology takes the charm out of the game its that human factor associated with umpires which spice up things...Sometime you get lucky and then you don't you can't complain about that, besides cricket is played and watched for fun and if thats not there its boring. Umpires not hearing the small nicks and seeing the bluff of the batsman. Also watching the bowler's bluff when he bowls a wide down the legside and then calls for a caught behing appeal to confuse the umpire not to give wide

Besides play the Brain Lara Cricket 2007 and you will know what i mean when "umpires" depend on hawkeye and not give any decision right...Then you know how frustrating and boring it becomes

  6. ya using technology is realy good cause by the rong decission of umpire they can lose the match so its better to usse technology

  7. Yer oka i think technology should be used in umpires decisions in my opinion but if we perfect cricket so much that it doesn't have any faults in it, it COULD have an impact on cricket itself.

  8. yes ,the concept introduced by icl was gr8 where a batsman or bowler could challenge the decision of umpire
