Hi,

Is there a place downtown Toronto where I can drop off used clothing and shoes? The places that I checked online are all far from core downtown and I don't have a car. I live near Yonge/Bloor. Is there a place nearby where I can drop donations off?

  1. Hi, I live in the same general area. You're right, most of the donation boxes and stores are nowhere near the downtown core. I only know of one actual thrift store that takes donations in the area, and I only stumbled on it by accident since it's "hidden" inside a plaza. You might have more luck with free pick-up services. At any rate, here it is:

    Goodwill Community Store

Greenwin Square (take the TTC to Spadina and walk east on Bloor, then go inside the plaza)

    345 Bloor St. E.

    Toronto, ON M4W 3J6

    Tel: 416-815-4749

The Canadian Diabetes Association takes clothes, you can actually call them and they'll come pick up your clothes for you for free:

    http://www.diabetes.ca/section_services/...

    1-800-505-5525

Oasis is an organization that does addiction and recovery work, they have drop boxes and a home pick-up service for clothes in Toronto but you have to contact them to get the info:

    Oasis Clothing Bank

    Tel: 416.751.0553

    E-mail: info@clothingbank.ca

The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy also does free pick-up, you can give them a call (the clothes get sold to Value Village and the charity gets paid for the donations):

Toronto: 416-244-0899 or Toll Free: 1-877-244-0899

I hope this helps, good luck!
