  1. Dumb or not. No such animal such as a lear jet that carries 20 people. A pilot would know that.

  2. tradeaplane.com may be a place to start. It's a classified publication dedicated to aircraft, but I think they have a subscription fee.

  3. Most jets of that size and price will be old and expensive to operate and maintain. A turboprop would be much much more suitable. Sure they are 20-25% slower, but they have 25-30% the fuel consumption.

  4. Get yourself hooked up with a reputable aircraft broker who deals REGULARLY in the type of aircraft you are interested in.  Any money that they might earn with the deal will be well spent on your behalf.  Without one, you are probably setting yourself up for a bigger s******g than you could ever imagine.  Dealing with or operating older turbine airplanes can be very costly when everything goes as planned.  Get involved with an airplane who has had some maintenance, Airworthiness Directives or inspections deferred,  look out it's going to cost you plenty.  A good broker can protect your interests and wallet here when comparing airplanes to buy.  Hint though, your not going to get anything that comes close to hauling that  many people that is in good shape for under a million dollars.  Not even close.  You can buy them, but your probably going to need to spend another half million up to have a sound aircraft.

  5. Not sure.

    try actually, amsair

  6. what do you have against John B... he is right about that, you're not a pilot are you.. then why do you wanna buy a plane or fly it... first get a lisence man, then we talk

  7. I'd suggest a google search as there are a few places out there.Wifey and I somehow seem to look them up every time she buys a lotto ticket as we'd like a 727.. but dreams are free. Best ones seem to be Florida or California based.

And yes that guy is some kind of idiot

  8. I don't think you know what you're getting into. There's no chance that you're spending under a million and getting a plane, let alone a jet, that'll seat 20, even 10 people. Take a Falcon 10 for example..my family has one, it seats 8 people MAX (including pilots) and still costs 1.3 million, and that's a 1980. On top of that, figure in the cost of fuel at about $400/hour, then go ahead and insure it and get two pilots to pay as well, because you do need a pilot and a co-pilot to fly one. Try NetJet if you're looking for a "good deal." It's the people who are trying to cut costs and look for "good deals" rather than good service or good products that make people like us weary of flying...and just for the record, John B knows what he's talking about.

  9. Anything with more than 10 seats is beyond midsize in the business jet world.

You can get an older (pre-1975) jet with 8-10 seats for around a million.  Don't expect anything with an airshow for that price, though.

If you can find anything newer, bigger, or better equipped for that price, it probably can't fly.

  10. If you are looking to purchase a Learjet I would suggest that you start your search on http://www.controller.com/ or http://www.aso.com/

  11. Hi brother.  Lol.  I am wanting a Learjet too!  Try usedjets.com if it exists.  Or Ford.  Maybe Chevy...  Dodge???

  12. You must mean under 5 million.
