Used my tomtom910 last week.

Question

Used my tomtom910 last week. plugged it in at home to charge it up for hols tomorrow. the green light is on. the system seems dead though. I have swiched it on, or should I say tried to switch it on and the screen stays blank. I also tried to connect it to my computer and the computer can't detect it's presence.HELP
