Question:

Used toys to donate???

I want to donate my old dolls and stuffed animals.

God knows i don't even look at them...and yet it hurts me to think places like the salvation army might throw them away or not accept them.

I certainly don't want to donate them to goodwill because they make a profit on it...

does anyone know a charity that will take used toys/dolls,etc. and make sure they are given to kids who want them?

I was wondering also if there is a way i can send my dolls to kids in other countries?

:D

Please Help.

Thank you,

Kiki

  1. If your things are sold by people who don't have any other way to make a living--like the workers at Goodwill--and the "profits" go to fund training for people who need it to get a good job, what's the problem?

  2. Does your town have an abused women's shelter. Many women who are abused have to flee with their children and those poor kids don't get to take beloved toys because  mommy has to run to save all their lives.

  3. The abuse shelters are also a good one.  Check in your area or online to see whether you have an Operation Homefront.  They match what we have to give with military families who need what we have.  They even come and pick up the items from you.  Believe me, they appreciate every gently used and loved item they receive.

  4. Donate these items to a local church many church's missions groups do toy drives. I like that you are concerned with other nations affairs but I feel the location that they end up at is irrelevant kids are just as bad off inside our borders (not in as high of numbers but still as bad off) as those outside our borders.

Hope i was of some help.

  5. CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS ALWAYS NEED TOYS ALSO YOUR LOCAL POLICE USE THE TOYS WHEN THEY HAVE TO GO TO A HOUSE WHEN THE CHILD IS ABUSED OR REMOVED FROM THE HOME, TOYS ESPECIALLY STUFFED ANIMALS HELP THEM RELAX AND GIVE THEM SOME COMFORT HOLDING THEM
