Useful sites for parents of an Army enlisted & method of transportation to basic training?

I wanted to know of any helpful sites for parents of future soldiers, My son heads to basic in less than 3 weeks. I stopped by the recruiting office the other day and ask this same question. While they commented no one had asked before they did attempt to find me a few sites.

While there I forgot to ask what form of transportation is used to get to the basic training site or does the family provide transportation? We live in IN and he is heading to GA.

  2. The military will take care of his transportation to basic, prob fly or a bus. I flew to San Antonio TX for basic in the AF. Good luck

  3. http://www.goarmy.com/for_parents/

This is the only one I could find. The army provides transportation from the recruiter's station all the way to basic training.

Good luck, and thanks for supporting your son's decision.
