  1. Skis might come in handy. <g> Sorry, couldn't resist it.

BTW, the "skies" will already be there.

  2. All good advice from the above.........BUT, I can't believe your school gave you or your Parents no advice at all on what you might need. Are these people properly qualified to take a group of kids away skiing?

I wouldn't let my kid out on a mountain with them without asking a few searching questions.

  3. Waterproof jacket and trousers.  Warm waterproof gloves.

Under that wear a few layers of clothes and make as many of them non-cotton as possible because when cotton gets wet it's heavy and doesn't keep you warm at all, it'll make you colder.  Wear a hat!  Bonus points if it covers your ears, it can get chilly on the lifts.

Take some money so you can buy something to eat.  Some lip balm isn't a bad idea and I'd recommend wearing sunscreen.

If you're not renting goggles or don't have them take sunglasses, wind can sting and dry out your eyes and if it's sunny the sun is mighty shiny.

If you're a beginner I wouldn't reccomend taking anything worth much money out on the slopes with you, especially if it could be broken if you land on it or if you get some snow on it.  Things like your digital camera, cell phone and iPod might be fun things to have with you but they're expensive and annoying to replace if you break or lose them.  Most ski lodges have lockers that you can put your stuff in for the day.

  4. ok i ski a lot heres my suggestions:

first thing - u wont need your own skis. most schools will rent them there.

    1. suncream&lipbalm.

    2. possibly a small backpack for taking things like money etc - if you jacket doesnt fit them all in. i often find i need to take a bottle of water out during the day as its hard exercise

    3. sunglasses-the glare from snow can be quite bright

    4. thermal clothing to wear under your waterproof ski stuff

    here's some further ideas:

    have a great time

  5. Hi! I'm going skiing next week with my school too. I wonder if we go to the same school lol. Anyway, make sure to bring lots of layers, like lots of t-shirts. Bring some big jumpers, and some thermals for a base layer. They keep you really warm as they are right next to your skin. Remember to bring both goggles and sunnies. Bring lots of socks. Remeber your suncream and lipbalm. And some advice - don't wear makup on the slopes. I did one time when I went, and it snowed and it blew in my face and my mascara and everything ran all down my face and I was stuck like it all day lol.

    Have fun,

    Rachel xoxo

  6. -sky glasses

(if they don't bring you sky's you have to take at you your sky's and your sky shoes)

  7. skies might be usefull :)

just joking, they'll be supplied. just take some thick clothes, i wore about 3 layers, including jacket, when i went

  8. If its going to be below 20 degrees make sure to bring toe and foot warmers. You won't need ski wax, unless you're planning on racing and even then its not neccessary. Cards and possibly poker chips would be a good idea to bring. Advil, Sleep Aides, and Dramamine are also a good idea to bring even if you don't think you'll need them. Money, If you have to pay for you're own food, you'll need a lot of spare cash. Ski Resorts are not cheap. Just today I bought a cheeseburger, only a cheeseburger,  at Keystone for $15 with tax. Helmet and ski goggles (they look a lot cooler than a hat and sunglasses). If you can, get your hands on a pair of twin tip skis. Even if you don't plan on skiing switch, twintips will make you look a lot cooler.

  9. Take money, make new friends, also long johns, spare pair of warm socks, a hat that covers your ears, a helmet, goggles, sunscreen SPF 45+. Wear multiple thin layers, which are warmer than one heavy layer, also a knit sweater.  Ski wax. spare dry clothing, dancing shoes and a swimsuit for the hot tub, if you need one.

  10. Sunburn cream , a high factor..

also full factor stick for lips and nose..

    Old fashioned long underpants .

a bag on a string to put around your neck to put your money in.

a ski pass extender string thing, looks a bit like an extractable measuring tape but smaller ..

2x as many socks as you would think ..

Paracetamol , diarrhea pills , and the other ones ..

Ralgex heat spray or stick ..

very dark sunglasses (snow blindness really hurts bad)

(if you have some that are covered on the sides those are even better)

call your cell phone company and make sure you can use your phone from abroad

a boardgame or deck of cards , for when it storms..

condoms ( if not for you , make sure your friends are safe)

(school trips are often people's first times)

  11. snow?

  12. Hey! I went skiing with school next year...

Bring those heatup pads for hands! From camping shops etc

    Loads of socks

comfy trousers to wear under ski clothes

Sun cream ( I got burnt LOADS, cuz the light refelcts of the snow..Blah blah Lol)

I'd also plan outfit for everyday :] Don't rely on shopping!

Have a great time! Wish iwas going!

  13. Put some kind of energy snacks in your pocket, like a couple of granola bars or something. Take a few dollars in case you wanna sit down and have some hot coco or something. Take a good attitude so you can deal with the crowds of people swarming around. I'm assuming that the school will supply lunch.

    Have fun!
