  1. My first Q would be why that???

In your thought, at the very least, you could use something like MinWax varnish stain, but even that would not be durable enough for flooring, over any long term.

A second notion is WHY wax over any durable, gloss clear coat???

    Just my two "sense"

  2. I don't think that you should use shellac on a floor. It's not waterproof and an awful lot of common spills will destroy it. I recomment you use a quick dry polyurethane  (bad spelling)> You might try a water soluable one. Use several coats. regular polyurethane will give the most durable finish.  Takes a while to really dry tho.

    Good luck!

  3. Shellac is not durable enough to use on floors. In fact, it's pretty much obsolete. Polyurethane is way better and easier to use.

  4. I would use a good polyurethane its easier to use and maintain does not get tacky, can come with stain already mixed.

  5. polyurethane
