  2. silly word problems. The formula to solve something like this is probably harder than it is just to think of ways in your head. Basically, you need to have 3 quarters so the rest is only 20 cents worth. If you only had 2 quarters, you would have change for a quarter because there would be 45 cents left. So...

    3 quarters, 1 dime, 1 nickel, 5 pennies.

  3. 9 dimes = 90

    1 nickel = 5

    90+5= 95cents

    9+1 = 10 coins
