Question:

Using Audacity to record from cassette tape I get recordings that are dull.?

The recordings lack the sparkle of the original but I can't figure out how to get the right mix of amplification or whatever. Is there a "dummies" guide that explains all the settings? I just want to duplicate the existing tape selections.

  1. Make sure you are using a good tape player, and I would suggest that you record it with Jet-Audio. Audacity is ok, but recordings do tend to turn out a little dull unless you tweak it with the tools provided.
