  1. this guide on getting the best download speeds in Vuze should help.  It has info, links and screenshots to help set Vuze up right:

  2. sorry... no ideas but i know for sure that bittorrent slows down the whole computer when downloading... it's a pain in the ****!

  3. You could pay for faster downloads but P2P requires others with that program to be on line

  4. Torrenting is illegal in the U.S. btw, and I think it is against rules to say how to speed it up. But uhm, try using wired. Past that I can't tell.

  5. Bittorrent is not illegal in any country.  p****y is illegal.  Not bittorrent.  This is a valid question and should be answered as such.

    Ahem.

Azureus/Vuze must be setup just as any other bittorrent client.  That is, you must choose a port to open in your firewall and router.  You must ensure that your client is not banned and that you are not using a fake client.  If this is the case, you will only be able to connect to peers through DHT.

To increase your download speed, you can try limiting your upload speed to about 80% of your maximum upload speed.  Just remember to raise it back up to 100% when you are able to so that others will get the best possible speed.

Of course, your speed will still be limited by your connection, but the above will help you utilize that connection more efficiently.
