Under isothermal conditions, what would be the pressure of a sample of Ne at 3 atm after its volume is changed from 4 L to 1 L?

  1. (4L/1L) x 3atm = 12atm. (Volume decrease by 4 times.= pressure increase by 4 times. At constant Temperature.

    (Boyle's Law of Inverse Proportion).


  2. Boyle's Law:

    P1V1 = P2V2

    3 atm * 4 L = X atm * 1 L:

    X = 12 atm
