Using Brown's Gas as a supplement?

Is it true or false that you can build and install a

Hydrogen Generator that will produce Brown's gas on demand to supplement the gasoline and increase the gas mileage and improve the efficiency of the engine. If you have done this or know someone who has successfully I would

appreciate it very much if you would share the information with me. jim boy

  1. It is a scam, designed to separate you from your money.

"Brown's gas" is merely the electrolysis of water to form hydrogen gas and oxygen.  I did this same experiment in high school chemistry in the 70's.  You can then mix the oxygen and hydrogen and burn it to generate water again.  This would seem to be the perfect perpetual fuel source.

The problem is that it takes MORE energy to create the hydrogen and oxygen than you can ever possibly harness in return from burning the gases to reform water.  And where would you get the energy to create the "Brown's Gas" in the first place?  Probably from burning _even_more_ gasoline in your vehicle to run the generator even harder to generate enough electricity to hydrolyze the water.  A guaranteed losing proposition, because the whole concept violates the laws of thermodynamics.

So please, don't waste your time or money on this scam.  There are much better ways to improve your gas mileage than this.
