Question:

Using Disneyland Passport for first time?

by  |  earlier

I've read that all Annual Passports are valid on the first day of use regardless of whether it is a blackout day.

So, if I buy a Annual Passport tomorrow would I be able to go on what is usually a blacked out day in June so long as it is my first time using the passport?

If yes, will I need to mention this when I arrive or will the cast members know and will I be asked to pay the blackout day fee?

Also, what are the differences between the annual passport and the So Cal annual passport besides price and blackout days?

Thanks!

  1. I agree with OC1999.

All the ticket takers are aware that the first day of use of any new annual passport is not consider a blockout date.

The reason why is because if you purchased a one day ticket and decide later on in the day to upgrade it to an annual passport at the AP center inside Disneyland, they will not kick you out of the park because it's a blockout date.  So, it just make sense to allowed all new annual passport holders in on a blockout date for their first use.

  2. When you buy the AP you first receive a "Voucher", that voucher is then turned into your AP when you get it processed inside of Disneyland.

If you are asking if you can buy the AP tommorow and use the voucher to get into Disneyland tommorow, then that is considered the first day of use.  Which is when this first day exception will work.  So if you come back in June and it is a blockout day you would have to buy a blockout ticket.

Now, if you just buy it tommorow but don't go into Disneyland you can use it in June because you have not had the first day of use yet.

But if you are going to buy now and not use it until June, verify that the voucher will still be good.  The AP Voucher must be processed within 3 months from date of purchase.  So if you go in June you should be okay.  But this is something you should verify before you buy it.  Also, if you loose the voucher before you get it processed you are out of luck

There are actually 4 levels of Passes
