Question:

Using Hotmail to send in Job Application

So I'm applying for a job where they request you send in your resume via: email. Is it unprofessional to use hotmail to send it in? My address is in the form of lastname.firstname@hotmail.com.

I just remember someone saying that it isn't a good idea to use hotmail for these sort of things.

If so, are there any free email services that would be better to use?

Thanks.

  1. The problem is with hotmail itself; my son has huge quantities of spam in his hotmail account, and it seems not very secure.  If you're on Yahoo, just sign up for a free email account with Yahoo!  Use the same style address as you have on hotmail, or switch to firstname.lastname@yahoo.com; either way is fine.  Does your internet provider give you free email addresses?  Check that option also.  Since you go on yahoo, using their email may be easier for you.

Professional advisors recommend against using email names that are silly or childish, but you don't have that problem.

  2. idk

  3. No it is not , sending it from your current company's email might get you fired.
