Question:

Using LAN on Warcraft3:TFT?

I want to LAN with my brother on Warcraft3. We share the same router and we're in the same house, but for some reason I can't see the games he makes on LAN and vice versa. Does anyone know the problem?

When researching, several sources suggest that we turn off firewall. If not opening an internet browser, would it still be dangerous and vulnerable to worms when firewall is disabled?

Thanks a lot!

  1. on settings change the port #

or disable ur firewall when u play on both comps

  2. I've had to disable the firewall also to play war3.  Since you already have a router, disabling windows firewall isn't too risky.  Make sure the firewall is on in your router.  I always turn the windows firewall back on when I'm done playing.  There are ways to allow war3 to work with firewall on, but it's complicated and sometimes doesn't even work.

Something to note: even with a firewall on, you can still download worms with a browser, you need anti-virus to protect from that.  All a firewall does is protect you from someone attempting to contact your computer from the outside without you asking for data first.
