Question:

Using Two Amps?

Okay, here's what I currently have installed in my car:

(Rear)

-Apline SPS-600 Coaxials (2-80 Watts)

(Front)

-Apline SPS-600C Components (2-80 Watts)

-Kenwood Excelon KDC X492 Head Unit (22x4 Watts)

I currently have the high pass setting on my front and rear sets set so that there is barely any bass that can be heard, the reason for this is that my speakers in the back are distorting due to the high levels of bass. As of right now I have no amplifer installed to run my speakers on. What I would like to do is use an Amplifier for my rear and front speakers and a seperate amp for a Subwoofer (Which I plan on buying later). How exactly would I go about doing this, is this possible to do? The sub I'm planning on purchasing will be a size '15, is this too large, or perhaps overkill.

  1. umm well right now i just orders new speakers for my car.. all alpine al around.. so wat u would need is a good 4 channel amp.. epending if u want to stick with alpine and worryign about space.. the mpx-4.100 is a realy godo amp which u can hide realy good. now for the subs if u want ur sub to hit realy hard.. id say get a 15" or two 12"s with the mpx 1.1000 mono amp.. that way u can stack ur two amps and wont have to worry about room that the amps take up.. plus it looks realy good too
