Using a UK mobile in australia?

my firend has an O2 UK mobile and is on holiday in australia. can she get texts and send them back?

Providing she has interational roaming set up, no problem. Although she will be charged for sending  AND recieving calls and texts.

So long as her actual mobile is tri-band, meaning it can pick up an Australian cellular signal. It should be, most modern phones are.

yes she can as long as she has international roam set up on her phone by her carrier. she will be able to send and receive texts and calls but this could be quite pricey.
