Ok well, the highschool in my district (the one that im suppose to go to) is just.... horrible. Trust me. I feel no need to further explain the reasons why.

Anyways, my mom has a friend that owns a house near a one of the top highschools in my state. My mom's friend said it was okay to use her address to go to this school.

What's the worst that could happen?

I mean.. will my parents and i be able to get away with this?

Both schools are in the same district by the way.

  1. The worst that happens is that you miss the mail. Sometimes, important mail. But that doesn't happen unless you have a more complicated scheme.

I doubt many schools actually check where you reside. Show proof of your "residence", and whatever, they believe you.

I've been doing it. I've even "moved" once.

  2. There are many people who have done this and have gotten away with it. I had a cousin who moved to a small city while she was in high school. When it was discovered that the principle of her new school was a relative of a KKK Grandmaster, she was able to use her aunt's address and go back to her old high school and graduate from there as well.

If both high schools are in the same district, then it's pretty likely that you'd be able to attend the high school of your choice without having to change your address. The only thing is that they won't provide transportation. But if you do have to use your aunt's address, then the worst that could happen is that a school official may come looking for you there if you are a habitual troublemaker or a truant. Otherwise, as long as they have your parent's AND your aunt's contact phone numbers in case of emergency, then you'll be okay.

  3. I did exactly the same thing because I wasn't in the catchment area for the grammar school I wanted to get into. I used my cousin's address.

I have to say it was the best choice I ever made. I am in my 4th year now and I am so glad I didn't go to the awful school I nearly applied for.

You just need to make sure you regularly keep in touch with your mum's friend, because important letters about your school work could be sent to her address.

    Good luck x

  4. You and/or your  parents could be he held accountable for giving a false address. You could be suspended or expelled from school. None of that is likely, however./  Look for a program given in the new school that you would like to take that is not given in your school. Use that as a reason to apply for a transfer./
